Pale Blue Dot
2015

This neon sculpture was created for Seachange, the Tulca Festival of Visual Arts in 2015.
The work makes reference to the photograph taken of planet earth from the voyager space probe as it was about to leave our solar system in 1990. In the photograph the planet earth appears as a tiny blue dot suspended in a sunbeam. Carl Sagan famously wrote about the significance of the photograph - "Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us."
